I spent most of my summer at the ball diamond. Our son, who seems to have been born with a baseball in his hand, joined Little League this year and won a spot on the 9-year-olds’ rep team. He had games or practices several days a week and we spent many weekends traveling around the province and over the border for tournaments.

My summer holidays have officially started. Ahead of me is one month of me time, family time, down time. But oh how quickly summertime flies to the bittersweet twilight of Labour Day.
