Movement Training for Pregnancy and Recovery

This curated workshop will delve far beyond typical Pilates pre/postnatal teacher trainings, covering in-depth anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, birth and recovery and the resulting considerations for movement throughout the pregnancy to parenthood journey. Participants will complete the workshop with an understanding of pre/ postnatal movement safety and purpose and the knowledge and confidence to teach pregnant and recovering clients.

This course is designed for anyone who works in the fields of movement and bodywork, but will reference Pilates terminology and equipment. Mat and Reformer Training is an asset.


More and more clients are coming to Pilates to address and manage specific injuries and chronic conditions. This course examines the role of the Pilates professional in working with common injuries and with clients in transition from physical therapy to a regular exercise program. Get the tools you need to recognize and address common conditions of the lower and upper back, shoulders, hips, and knees. Learn post-rehab protocols for working with clients in transition from physical therapy to a regular exercise program. Examine specific exercise protocols for older, mobility impaired and osteoporotic clients and those living with chronic conditions. This course has been designed by Retrofit Master Instructors and provides a framework for new and experienced Pilates instructors to take their teaching to a deeper more complex level.
