After knee surgery put my soccer future in jeopardy, a chiropractor turned me on to Pilates and I’ve been a devotee ever since. I love the combination of athleticism, focus and precision that a Pilates practice demands, and the full range of exercises and equipment at my disposal.
Originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, I’m an actor, writer and singer, with an MFA from the Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago, and my background in movement includes training and experience with Feldenkrais, Yamuna Body Rolling and myofascial release, clown and mask, physical theatre, and various forms of dance. I bring a creative flair to my classes, as well as a few laughs, because having fun is just as important to me as working hard. I’m also a Coach U trained life coach, work that ignites my curiosity and supports the mindful aspect of mindful movement.
In addition to teaching a range of group classes, I have worked in clinic doing one-to-one and small group active physiotherapy sessions (as directed by supervising physiotherapists) since 2014, focusing on back, knee, hip, shoulder, and post-natal rehabilitation. I love that Pilates can help people get back to the activities that they love, and I get tremendous satisfaction from my role in that process. I understand the frustration of sitting out a season or feeling disconnected from your body, and I know that “returning to life” is possible.
