Passionate about Pilates?

Turn your passion into a career.

Retrofit Pilates is proud to be an authorized Balanced Body Training Centre offering movement education, Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training and internationally recognized certification from the world’s leader in Pilates education and equipment.

Balanced Body Pilates education respectfully and comprehensively presents the works of Joseph Pilates. Our signature approach teaches the repertoire, movement principles, class design and client specific applications of each exercise. At Balanced Body, we encourage you to explore and create your own voice and style as a practitioner, as we believe this approach respects the past and builds the future.

Where do I start?

All Balanced Body programs begin with Anatomy in Three Dimensions and the Balanced Body Movement Principles, bringing together the art and science of movement to create a solid foundation for your practice and your career.

Balanced Body Movement Principles is the foundation of the Balanced Body Teacher Training Program and is the prerequisite for the Pilates Mat, Reformer or Comprehensive program.

Anatomy in Three Dimensions is a unique exploration into the anatomy of the human body and is a required course for Reformer and Comprehensive certification.

Choose your path!

Balanced Body allows you to choose from three teaching training streams depending on your plans and objectives. Each training stream is divided into three 16-hour course modules. Modules can be completed in an intensive time frame or more slowly, in consecutive order, over a schedule that works for you.

Mat Teacher Training gives you the skills to teach Pilates Mat repertoire and functional movement exercises without equipment or by incorporating small props such as bands, balls and rollers. Course modules and practical hours (134 total hours) can be completed in 3-6 months.

Reformer Teacher Training gives you the skills to teach Reformer repertoire to individuals and groups. The Reformer is the quintessential Pilates training apparatus, designed originally by Jospeh Pilates and refined magnificently by Balanced Body. Course modules and practical hours (230 total hours) can be completed in 6 -12 months.

Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training includes all Mat and Reformer modules plus additional training modules on unique apparatus including Cadillac/Tower, Chair and Barrels. The entire Pilates repertoire of equipment and movement technique is explored as an integrated training system including therapeutic and athletic applications. This course is recommended for individuals who wish to teach in a Pilates studio or post-rehab environment. Course modules and practical hours (536 total hours) can be completed in 12 -18 months.
